Peach – The Beauty Bar

The Peach nail promise

Two ingredients quietly sit in most gel and acrylic nail products sold in India. One is banned across Europe. The other is the leading cause of nail allergies. Peach uses neither, at every branch, in every service.

What TPO is, and why Europe banned it

Every gel polish needs a photo-initiator: the molecule that reacts to your LED lamp and turns liquid gel solid. For years the industry standard was TPO. In 2025 the EU classified TPO as a category 1B reproductive toxicant, meaning evidence of harm to fertility or unborn children in animal studies, and banned it from all cosmetics from 1 September 2025.

India has no equivalent rule yet, so TPO-based gels remain on shelves and in salons. Peach moved to TPO-free systems ahead of the ban and stocks nothing else.

What HEMA is, and why allergies are rising

HEMA is a small, aggressive monomer that helps gel and acrylic bond to the nail. Because it is small, it also penetrates skin easily. Under-cured gel, product touching the cuticle, or DIY kits at home can all sensitise you. Once sensitised, you can react for life, not just to nails but to dental resins and medical adhesives.

Dermatologists across the UK and India have reported a sharp rise in acrylate allergy since at-home gel kits became popular. HEMA-free systems use larger monomers that do not cross the skin barrier the same way.

What that means at Peach

  • All gel polish, builder gel, soft-gel tips and acrylic systems at Kokapet, Sainikpuri and LB Nagar are TPO-free and HEMA-free.
  • Products are cured to the manufacturer’s spec on calibrated LED lamps, because under-curing is the other big allergy trigger.
  • We keep product off your skin: precise application, no flooding the cuticle.
  • Metal tools are autoclaved; files, buffers and pedicure liners are single-use.
  • Bottles are on the counter. Ask to read the label any time.

FAQ

Safer nails, explained

TPO (trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide) is a photo-initiator: the ingredient that makes gel polish harden under a UV or LED lamp. In 2025 the European Union classified it as a category 1B reproductive toxicant and banned it in all cosmetics from 1 September 2025. It is still legal and common in India.
